[Dodoma, Tanzania, August 28th, 2024] The 18th edition of the eLearning Africa conference, the continent’s largest and most influential summit on digital education, training, and skills development, will take place from May 7 to 9, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The event will be held under the esteemed patronage of Tanzania’s Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Prof. Adolf Mkenda, who will deliver an inaugural speech and participate in key discussions throughout the conference.
Reflecting on Tanzania’s role as host, Hon. Prof. Adolf Mkenda stated, “Hosting eLearning Africa 2025 is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our commitment to digital education and collaborate with global experts to develop sustainable solutions that will bridge educational gaps and empower our youth.” He emphasised the significance of this event, especially in light of the recent endorsement of the revised National Education Policy and the Curriculum for Basic and Teacher Education by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in 2023.
eLearning Africa is an annual event that brings together a diverse group of stakeholders from across the continent, including high-level delegates such as ministers, vice chancellors, educators, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and the African EdTech sector, to explore how technology can be harnessed to improve education, training, and skills development across all sectors. The conference is known for its ability to convene a highly relevant audience and provide a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
The main theme of eLearning Africa 2025, “Re-imagining Education and Human Capital Development for Africa’s Future Prosperity,” highlights the urgent need to transform the educational landscape and develop a skilled workforce capable of driving sustainable growth and innovation across the continent. The conference will delve into critical topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), digital literacy, green skills, and climate change education into curricula, aiming to create a resilient and future-ready workforce.
Key sessions will explore how Africa can leverage the Fourth Industrial Revolution, focusing on the strategic integration of AI in education, policy innovations, public-private partnerships, and technological advances that enhance educational access and quality. By bringing together top industry leaders, government representatives, policymakers, and educators, the conference aims to inspire collaboration and innovative solutions for economic diversification, sustainable practices, and inclusive growth.
