Blockchain, Open Education & Digital Citizenship – International Conference

The University of Lille, for the Directorate of Digitalisation for Education (French Ministry of National Education & Youth) and the Commonwealth Centre for Connected Learning (Malta), organise the second edition of the international conference:

Blockchain, Open Education & Digital Citizenship
28-29 May 2019 (with pre-conference workshops on 27th May 2019)
At Lilliad Learning Center, University of Lille (France)

On 28-29 May 2019 (with pre-conference on 27th), the second edition of this international conference will provide participants with a unique opportunity to have an independent, informed overview of the application of blockchain technologies in the global education context.

The plenary sessions will include a general overview of the contribution of the technology to the world wide web, the use case studies from the European Commission and the initatives from governments. The link between blockchain and the family of open (open education, open access, open badges) will be explained, and a call for papers is open, including for researchers in informatics, law and politics (governance). Private stakeholders will also present their solutions.

The call for papers in seven over-riding themes is open. Registration is open until 13th May 2019 and the call for contributions, until 3rd May 2019.

The event will take place at the Lilliad Learning Center, University of Lille, France, very well connected and also close to Paris and Charles-de-Gaulle Airport, from Brussels and London.
